Pectin - Aglupectin®
The Aglupectin® pectin range
Pectin is a versatile, natural carbohydrate derived from the cell walls of fruits, most abundantly found in citrus peels. Recognised by consumers as a clean-label dietary fibre, pectin is widely used for its unique ability to gel, thicken, stabilise and improve texture in a broad range of applications.
Our extensive pectin range spans all three pectin families, with multiple grades within each designed to deliver targeted reactivity and functionality for specific applications. Following extraction from citrus peels, the pectin is standardised and blended with sugars or salts to ensure consistent, reliable batch-to-batch performance.
- High Methoxyl (HM) pectin
- Low Methoxyl Conventional (LMC) pectin
- Low Methoxyl Amidated (LMA) pectin
Technical support begins by helping our customers select the most suitable pectin grade for their application, with ongoing support from development and scale-up through to launch. Our technical experts are here to discuss your project and provide application support. Contact us to discuss your pectin application.

When to use pectin
Pectin is a versatile, natural carbohydrate derived from the cell walls of fruits, most abundantly found in citrus peels. Recognised by consumers as a clean-label dietary fibre, pectin is widely used for its unique ability to gel, thicken, stabilise and improve texture in a broad range of applications.
When fully dissolved and properly hydrated, pectin forms a network that traps water and other ingredients. This functionality:
- Creates desirable gels and textures in jams, confectionery and fruit preparations
- Replaces gelatine in confectionery & supplement gummies to allow for vegan and vegetarian formulations
- Protects proteins in beverages like acidified milk drinks
- Boosts viscosity and mouthfeel in beverages and dairy
- Helps suspend particles for visual quality and stability
- Supports clean-label formulations with natural plant-derived ingredients
- Can act as a dietary fibre source in finished products
- Supports sugar and fat reduction without compromising texture
- Allows for syneresis control
To get the best performance, pectin needs complete dissolution in water under correct conditions (e.g., proper temperature and mixing).
